William F. Ward of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016          at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.   He was 89 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he resided in Iselin for the past 25 years.

Mr. Ward was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in World War II.

He served on the Jersey City Police Force for 18 years, retiring as a Chief in 1967.

William was a communicant of St. Cecelia's R.C. Church in Iselin; and a member of the Colonia Veterans          of Foreign Wars Post #6062 and The U.S. Navy Armed Guard.

Mr. Ward was predeceased by his wife, Doris Ertle Ward, in 1999.

Surviving are three children, William Ward and his wife, Mary, Donna Lutomski and her husband,
Kenneth, and Glenn Ward and his wife, Donna; nine grandchildren, Kerri, Erin, Michael, Colleen, Brian,
Maureen, Amy, Jason and Thomas; and seven great grandchildren, Ryan, Anthony, Matthew, Victoria,
Adrian, Giana, Christopher, Branden, James and Josephine.

Funeral will take place on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home
( www.Costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at
St. Cecelia's R.C.Church, Iselin. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be
on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
