William P. Tatler passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his home in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township. He was 79 years old.

Born in Jersey City on May 6, 1943 to the late Gertrude and William Tatler, he has resided in Colonia for 42 years.

Mr. Tatler earned his Bachelor's degree from Saint Peter's College and his Master's degree from Manhattan College and was employed with Register and Transfer Company in Jersey City and Cranford for 46 years before retiring in 2011.

He was a communicant of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Colonia, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tatler was predeceased by his brother, Lawrance Tatler.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Catherine "Kitty" Harmon Tatler; children, William P. Tatler, Jr. of Browns Mills and Catherine Burke and her husband, Rory, of Brick; sister, Ann Conlin, of Keansburg; grandchildren, Raven, Maverick and Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.  A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
