William "Howard' Munn Jr.

William Howard Munn Jr. 92 passed away on Wednesday February 3rd, 2021.

Howard was born in Perth Amboy and grew up in Hopelawn. He graduated from Perth Amboy Vocational High School. He was employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Local #27 as a journeyman and a proud member of the union for 71 years.

Howard served his country and was in the army stationed in Germany from 1951 to 1953. He was in the 503 Engineers Light Equipment Company helping rebuild post war West Germany. He was a member of the Hopelawn Lions Club for many years helping the blind and flipping many a pancake when they held their annual pancake breakfast.

A quiet man at times, Howard enjoyed the Great Outdoors especially in winter with his family. He loved his antique cars, going to car shows with his grandson Kyle and doting on his granddaughter Caroline. He could build and fix almost anything and you could learn a lot from him by just watching. He was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees as well as a season ticket holder for the New York Giants for many years.

Howard was predeceased by his parents Augusta and William H. Munn Sr. Howard now joins his beloved wife Madlyn who passed in 2018.

Surviving are his devoted son Howard T. Munn and his wife Dianna, loving grandchildren Kyle Thomas Munn and Caroline Elizabeth Munn, dear sister Vivian Distefano and sister in law Margaret Kovach. His furry companion "Tippy" will also miss him dearly.

The family would like to thank his friends at the Reo Diner and the girls at the counter at Wegmans for their kindness.

Funeral services will take place Monday, February 8, 2021 10:30 a.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery 64 West Lake Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
