William J. "Mac" McQueeney passed away on Friday February 11, 2022 at Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield, NJ. He was 75 years old.

Born in Newark, NJ he has lived in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for 69 years.

William served as a sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War; and went on to serve in the Rahway Fire Department for 35 years before retiring as a captain in 2006.

He was a member of the Rahway Exempt Firemen, Rahway American Legion Post #499, FMBA Local 33 & 233 and Vietnam Veterans Group.

William was predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy McQueeney; and a great-grandson William Kroplick.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra McQueeney; daughter, Kelly Ann McQueeney Kroplick, of Avenel; sister, Judith Roberts, of Woodbridge; brother, James T. McQueeney, of Seaside Park; and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kroplick of Avenel.

Funeral services will take place 10:00 am on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com) located at 399 Avenel Street Avenel, NJ 07001. Burial to follow at Rahway Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will take place at the funeral home on Monday February 14, 2022 3:00pm -7:00pm.
