William Christopher Keating of Woodbridge passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2023, at home. He was 70 years old.

Born on June 20, 1952, in Teaneck, NJ to the late William E. and Marta Leonardi Keating, he resided in Bergenfield before moving to Woodbridge 47 years ago.

Bill Keating was employed as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service in South Amboy for 45 years until 2016 and was a member of The National Association of Letter Carriers. He was also employed with Guest Services at the Meadowlands Sports Complex working events at the Izod Center, Giants Stadium, and MetLife Stadium for over 25 years, where he built many lasting friendships.

He was most recently employed for Woodbridge Township as a Crossing Guard at Lynn Crest Elementary School in Colonia and received a mayor's certificate of appreciation and excellence for 5 years of service. Bill spent many mornings and afternoons bringing smiles to everyone at his post.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Mary Szupiany Keating; daughters, Nicole, Tracy, and Shaina; son, Garrett; grandson, Justin; and brother, Mark Keating and his wife, Mary Beth, of Wayne.

A prayer service will take place on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Visiting hours will also be on Friday, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Woodbridge Animal Shelter in Mr. Keating's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
