Walter C. Norz, Jr. passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 85 years old.

Born on January 23, 1933 in Newark, he resided in there and in Irvington before moving to Rahway 15 years ago.

Mr. Norz was employed by Industrial Retaining Ring in Irvington for many years.

Walter proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and belonged to Post 5, American Legion, Rahway, Post 4410, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Woodbridge, NJ Chapter 28, Disabled American Veterans and B.P.O.E. Elks, Lodge 135, Orange; and served as Grand Marshal of the Rahway Memorial Day Parade earlier this year.

He was predeceased by his wives, Kathryn Wolff Norz in 1988 and Carol Lawson Norz in 2007; and a sister, Mary Makoski.

Surviving are his children, Margaret Council of Florida, Donna Pashkevich of Woodbridge and Walter C. Norz III of Florida; six grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday evening, September 17, 2018 at 7:45 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday evening beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
