Obituary

Walter "Cap" Bergacs passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was 59 years old. Born in Perth Amboy, he was raised in Woodbridge and has resided in Hopelawn for 32 years. Mr. Bergacs was a 1978 graduate of Kean University in Union. He was employed as an electrician through IBEW Local #358 in Perth Amboy and, more recently, through IBEW Local #456 in New Brunswick. He belonged to Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge and Lafayette Lodge #27, Free and Accepted Masons, Rahway. He enjoyed traveling and photography. Mr. Bergacs was predeceased by his parents, John Bergacs, Jr., in 2004 and Catherine Dynow Bergacs, in 2011. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Susann Howell Bergacs; a daughter, Sarah Ludewig and her husband David, of Monroe Township; a son, Joshua Bergacs, of New Orleans, LA; a brother, John Bergacs III, of Edison; a foster sister, Mary Neill, of Edison; three grandchildren; six nephews; and a great niece. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
