Vincent Gladstone Harry, formerly of Silvertown, Wismar, Guyana passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was 91 years old.

He was born in Queenstown, Essequibo, Guyana on December 24, 1925, and worked at the Demerara Bauxite Company from 1950 to 1984. Throughout the years and many changes in the Bauxite Company, he had various positions, finally retiring in 1984 as a Mechanic Foreman. After immigrating to the United States in 1984, he began a second career in security at the New York Public Library until his retirement in 1999.

During his years in Guyana, Vincent was also an accomplished carpenter making exquisite wooden furniture. Most days after completing his shift at the Bauxite Company, he would come home and continue working late into the night on furniture orders he had to complete. He was quite the music aficionado and enjoyed all genres of music, especially the music of Fausto Papetti and Johnny Mathis.

Vincent is survived by his wife, Agnes Williams Harry; his children, Jacqueline Simon (Stephen), Keith Harry (Carol), Cheryl Pollard (Berkley), June-Ann Hunte (Leslie), Kenrick Harry (Cynthia), Brian Harry (Paulette), Paula Richmond (Godfrey), and Prodesta Cadogan. He is also survived by his brother Herbert Harry of Guyana, 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge NJ 07095. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 9:00 am at Faith Fellowship Ministries, 2707 Main Street Extension, Sayreville, NJ 08872. Interment immediately following at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, New Jersey 07067.
