Veronica Mary Cuoco of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 with her loving family at her side. She was 85 years old.
Born to Alex and Veronica (Tilicsek) Kovacs on March 7, 1932, she was raised in Perth Amboy and then married Rudolph V. Cuoco and moved to Avenel.
In her youth she worked at Maidenform in Perth Amboy along with many Hungarian relatives as a seamstress. She went on to retire from Fortunoff's at Woodbridge Center as a Sales Associate after many years of service.
Veronica, affectionately known as Ronnie, Mrs. C. and St. Veronica was best known for her care of family and friends, her cooking and special treats for all. Her green thumb made for beautiful flower gardens and delicious vegetables.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church and a loyal member of the Avenel Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph V. Cuoco, in 2005; a sister, Helen Kachuba; and four brothers, Louis, William, Alex and Steven Kovacs.
She is survived by three sons, Gregory Cuoco and his wife, Maria, of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Cuoco of Avenel and Rudy Cuoco, Jr. of Avenel; a sister, Ann Belesky, of Edison; a brother, Frank Kovacs, of Woodbridge; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Fords. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820 or to your favorite charity in Mrs. Cuoco's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
