Valerie Gail Evangelista passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 71 years old.

Born in Elizabeth on July 29, 1953 to the late Frank and Alberta Dynarski, Valerie was raised in Avenel and has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1977.

Mrs. Evangelista was employed with Little Fiddler Academy in Avenel and Vollman's Florist in Perth Amboy, and was the assistant Manager of Bow Tie Pool in Sewaren for many summers. She was a paraprofessional with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education, retiring in 2019 from Mathew Jago School in Sewaren after 25 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Evangelista, in 2023.

Surviving are her children, Robert S. Evangelista and his wife, Toni, of Avenel, Jessica Liquori and her husband, Joseph, of Fords and Brian Evangelista and his wife, Carly, of Colonia; beloved grandchildren, Avery, Bobby, Joseph, Adelina, Blake and Cora; sisters and brothers Sandra McQueeney, Christine Tilley, William Dynarsky and Frank Dynarksy.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025 10:00 am at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org) or Ronald McDonald House (rmhc.org) in Mrs. Evangelista's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
