Umberto Chirco passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 84 years old.

Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, he came to the United States in 1958 and resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township four years ago.

Mr. Chirco owned and operated Nino's Pizza in Colonia for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Migliore Chirco; daughter, Emma Micara and her husband, Joseph, of Lindenhurst, NY; son, Ricardo Chirco, of Avenel; sister, Angela Balsamo, of Edison; and grandchildren, Krista and Sara Chirco and Joseph and his wife, Sarah, Michael, Michele and Anthony Micara.

A funeral liturgy will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2805 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11218. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, November 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mr. Chirco's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
