Trude L. Iwanus passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA. She was 68 years old.

Born in Newark, she resided there for most of her life before moving to Scranton, PA 3 years ago.

Mrs. Iwanus was employed as a librarian with The Newark Free Public Library for 41 years before retiring in 2010.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry Scheland and Gertrude Schriek Scheland.
Surving are her husband, George Iwanus; children, George G. Iwanus of Cliffwood, Raven Schelle of Sicklerville and Andrew Benjamin of Newark; sister, Mary Giordano, of Newark; brothers, Joseph Scheland of Allentown, PA, Johnnie Scheland of Scranton, PA, Billy Schelle of Nutley, NJ, and Edward Scheland of California; grandchildren, Eva Iwanus and Athena Nixon; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
