Thomas R. Taylor passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 65 years old. Born in Scranton, PA, he resided in Elizabeth before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 30 years ago. Mr. Taylor was employed as an electrician with Local 102 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Parsippany for 25 years before retiring in 2008. He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and a member of B.P.O.E. Elks, Lodge 2282 in Colonia. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Helen Gapch Taylor; two daughters, Elaine Aiello and her husband, Keith, of East Windsor and Helene Taylor of Rahway; a sister, Eileen Brown, of Ocean Gate; a brother, John Taylor, of Bayville; and two grandchildren, Kevin and Ryan Aiello. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Avenel Colonia First Aid Squad, 105 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001.
