Thomas A. Sheridan passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune surrounded by his loving family. He was 65 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Carteret, Woodbridge and Toms River before moving to Brick 4 years ago.
Mr. Sheridan was employed with Twin County in Edison for many years. He coached Woodbridge Little League Baseball, Woodbridge Youth Basketball, and Toms River Girls Youth Soccer.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Angeline "Jean" and Cornelius Sheridan.
Survived are his wife of 43 years, Barbara Gavin Sheridan; children, Kimberly Contos and her husband, John, of Toms River, Thomas Sheridan and his wife, Tamara, of Redondo Beach, CA and Sydney Sheridan and her fiancé, Robert McAvoy, of Point Pleasant; brother, Cornelius Sheridan and his wife, Diane, of Toms River; aunt, Vivian Corrente; grandchildren, Noelle and Zachary Sheridan and Matthew and Christopher Contos; and many loving sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom carried in his wallet for over 30 years an article that stated success was not measured by a fancy home, car or dress, but rather the way your kids describe you when talking to a friend. His children were his world.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, September 11, 2021 morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Interment of Tom's remains will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children (donate.lovetotherescue.org), 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 in Mr. Sheridan's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
