Thomas L. Schneider passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 73 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the past 49 years.

Mr. Schneider was employed as a machinist with PSE & G at the Sewaren Generating Station for 40 years before his retirement in 2004; and was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving on the USS Strauss.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Eleanore Kwiatek Schneider; children, Lisa Kenny and her husband, Patrick, of Fords, Scott Schneider and his wife, Stephanie, of Sewaren and Karen Schneider of Avenel; sister, Arline Valian, of Spring Lake Heights; and grandchildren, Jessica, Kristen, Michael and Richie.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A funeral service will take place on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
