Thomas P. McQueeney passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was 58 years old.
Born in Rahway, he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township before moving to Hopelawn in 1982.
Mr. McQueeney was employed as a sheet metal mechanic through Sheet Metal Workers, Local 27 in Farmingdale for over 30 years.
He was predeceased by a son, Thomas R. McQueeney, in 1983; and his parents, Robert and Susan Mai McQueeney.
Mr. McQueeney is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Iacovone McQueeney; two beloved sons, Daniel T. McQueeney and his wife, Jackie, of Avenel and Michael T. McQueeney and his fiancé, Christina, of Rolla, ND; a sister, Susan McQueeney, of Cleveland, TN; a brother, Robert McQueeney, of Marinette, WI; and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, Mackenzie. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hopelawn. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the Make-A-Wish Foundation (wish.org) in Tom's memory in lieu of flowers.
