Thomas C. Hoagland passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. He was 71 years old. Born in Morristown, he resided in Rahway, Clark and Point Pleasant before moving to Fort Pierce, FL 14 years ago; and spent his summers in Popham Beach, ME. Mr. Hoagland graduated from Rahway High School and the University of Michigan. He played professional baseball for the Chicago White Sox and the California Angels before his employment as a teacher and coach for the Linden Board of Education. He retired in 1998. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Hoagland (nee Hedeman), in 1971. Surviving his children, Tracy Roszkowski of Sayerville, Thomas W. Hoagland and his wife Teresa of Holmdel, and Teri Forrester of Barnegat; a brother, Leonard Hoagland and his wife Doris, of Waretown; a nephew, Earl Hoagland II, of Brick; and five grandchildren.
