Thomas "Skip" Garley passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township. He was 63 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he has resided in Iselin for most of his life.

Skip served with the Woodbridge Township Police Department for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant in 2009; and was a member of PBA Local 38, Woodbridge. He was past President of the Woodbridge Township Board of Education; was inducted into JFK Memorial High School Hall of Fame; and was active as a Pop Warner football coach with the Saint Cecelia's Golden Knights.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mildred Davis Garley, in 1994 and Thomas M. Garley in 1965; and a sister, Theresa Byrnes-Garley, in 2007.

Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Angelina Garley; his children, Sean Garley and his wife, Maria, of Parlin and Kristin Leavitt and Ancil Nicholas of Iselin; and a grandson, Maison Nicholas

Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home , 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Iselin. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
