Thomas J. Coester passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024. He was 65 years old.

Born on April 16, 1959, in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Jacqueline Coester, he has resided in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township for the past 14 years.

A graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School, Class of 1977, Mr. Coester was employed as a courier with FedEx Corporation in Edison for 27 years before his retirement in 2021.

Tommy had a zest for life that he shared by singing in his band and through the food that he cooked. He loved bringing people together for a good time. He was an avid reader and was always ready with a joke. He loved bringing smiles to people's faces and lit up every room he entered. Tommy was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by all.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Theresa Coester; daughters, Carli Collins and her husband, Mark, of Hamilton, Patricia Dobrowski and her fiancé, Chris, of Jersey City and Brittany Dobrowski of Fords; sister, Lauren Gallagher and her husband, Jim, of Fair Haven; nephew, George "Buddy" Zadroga of Keyport; and brother, Andrew Coester of Keasbey.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's  Research Hospital at (stjude.org) would be greatly appreciated by his family.
