Theresa "Terri"
Seibert
March 19, 1938 — August 5, 2026
Theresa “Terri” Seibert passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at her home in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township. She was 88 years old. Born on March 19, 1938 in Jersey City to the late Beatrice and Frank De Monico, she resided in Union before moving to Port Reading in 1959. She was employed as an accounting manager with Supermarkets General in Carteret for 30 years before her retirement in 2008. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading where she planned the Queen for a Day Auction for 30+ years and was an active member at the former Saint Anthony School. She received the Regina Nostra award from the Diocese of Metuchen for her dedication to her parish. She enjoyed traveling with her husband George, trips to Atlantic City, caring for her backyard of flowers, baking for the neighbors and setting up her Dickens Village at Christmas. She was a New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching the games with her son. She was a caring wife, devoted mother and the heart of her family. Her biggest pride and joy was being “Grandy” to her 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She enjoyed baking for them, going to their school events and activities, and passing down her beloved holiday traditions of making struffoli and Easter bread. Most of all she cherished hosting Christmas Eve to sing the Twelve Days of Christmas, creating family memories that will be treasured in our hearts forever. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, George Seibert, in 2020; brothers, Joseph and Frank De Monico; and son in law, Anthony J. Seniakevgch. Surviving are her loving children, Holly and her husband, John: Donald, and Shelley, grandchildren, Amie, A.J.(Jenna), Nicholas (Amanda), Stephanie (Joey), John J.(Kate), Nick, Danielle (Joe) and great grandchildren, Michael, Jared, Gabby, Ashton, Kyle, Adam, Reagan, Jesse, Bella, Olivia, Anthony, Giovanni, and Nico, and many nieces and nephews. We will always remember you “Over the rainbow”. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the Hospice team of aides and nurses, our special Angel “Kathy” and our neighbors who assisted us in taking care of our mom with loving care. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading.
