Theresa A. Castaldo passed away at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township on Monday, March 13, 2023.  She was 78 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Carteret before moving to Avenel 3 years ago.

Mrs. Castaldo was employed as the Office Manager at Mortgage Money Mart in Edison for many years; and was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

She was predeceased by her husband, Giro A. Castaldo, in 2013; son, Michael Giro Castaldo, in 2022; parents, Patrick McDonnell and Eileen Tuohy McDonnell; and sister, Ellen Vitiello.

Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer Fontana and Caroline Castaldo; sisters, Rosemary McLaughlin, Sheila Gill and Bernadette Milby; brother, Patrick McDonnell; grandchildren, Frankieann, Emily, Anthony, Theresa, Christopher, Brandon, Giro, Kaitlyn, Freddie, Alex, Jason and Johnny; and great grandchild, Paulie.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel.  Interment will be Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
