Tara A. McCarthy of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018. She was 24 years old.

Born in Edison, she resided in Colonia before moving to Avenel 10 years ago.

Tara was a graduate of Colonia High School.

She was predeceased by her mother, Jennifer Moore McCarthy, in 2014; and grandfather, Stephen G. Moore, Sr., in 1998.

Surviving are her daughter, Mia McCarthy; father, Brian McCarthy; sister, Courtney McCarthy; brother, Brian McCarthy; maternal grandmother, Barbara Moore; paternal grandparents John and Marilyn McCarthy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
