Sylvia Cornacchia of the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison.  She was 89 years old.

Born in New York City; She resided in Newark before moving to Avenel.

She was employed as a Clerk with Sherwin-Williams Paint Company in Newark for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband James Cornacchia who passed away in 2015; a daughter Bernadette Gerhart.

A Prayer service will take place Friday, October 17, 2025 11:00 am at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
