Sylvia R. Adams passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 83 years old. Born in New York City, she was raised in Germany and has resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township since 1959. Mrs. Adams was employed as a secretary with Esso Research and Engineering Company in Linden many years ago; and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Kerr Adams, in 1995. Surviving are her daughter, Audrey, and her husband, Clifford L. Edwards, of Edison; three sons, Alexander Adams of Avenel, Philip Adams of Port Reading and James Adams of Port Reading; a brother, Berthold Kitschker, of Whiting; and four grandchildren, Clifford A. Edwards, Craig Adams, Tabitha Edwards and Kelsey Edwards. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
