Susan Nalasco Bishop Mason of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 72 years old.

She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and she resided in Iselin most of her life.

Susan was a Crossing Guard at the corner of Green Street and Benjamin Avenue in Iselin for over 30 years retiring in 2007.

Everyone who knew Susan knew how much she loved animals, she also was an avid reader, who loved to garden and write poetry. Susan loved spending time with her family and was the kindest, loving and most giving person you will ever know.

She was predeceased by her first husband Barry Bishop who passed away in 1986 and her father Gaetano "Tommy" Nalasco.

Surviving are her husband Dave Mason; her daughter Joelle Gerhardt and her husband Brian of South Plainfield; her son Wayne Bishop and his wife Trisha of Clark; her mother Nancy Nalasco of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; a sister Bernadette McCann of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Emily Gerhardt, Bethany Gerhardt, and Stefanie Bishop; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ, Cremation will be private.
