Obituary

Stephen George Moore Jr., 65, passed away on September 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness, devotion, and countless memories that will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Stephen was the beloved husband of Janet with whom he shared a beautiful life of nearly 40 years. They recently fulfilled one of their dreams together—building their dream home in Forked River, New Jersey. Their home became a place where Stephen could enjoy the simple things he loved most: sunset boat rides, relaxing in the backyard overlooking the lagoon, and spending time with the people he loved.

Stephen was a proud father to Brittany, Stephen, and Kayla. He was a devoted and loving father who always put his family before himself. He was the greatest provider for his family, not only working hard throughout his entire life, but making sure the people he loved were always taken care of. Stephen was selfless by nature. He rarely worried about himself; his thoughts were always about his family and friends and what he could do for them.

Of all the roles Stephen held in his life, being a grandfather brought him some of his greatest joy. His grandchildren, Caiden and Chase, were his pride and joy. He cherished every moment with them and could often be found proudly cheering them on from the sidelines at their soccer and baseball games. He never missed an opportunity to support them, encourage them, and let them know how proud he was. The love he had for his grandsons was something truly special.

Stephen was a graduate of Colonia High School, Class of 1979, and earned his degree from Kean University in 1984. He spent his entire professional life working in the car industry, where he built a career through his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment.

Stephen will be remembered most for the love he gave so freely. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was the person his family could always count on—the one who would put everyone else first and never ask for anything in return. His greatest accomplishment was not his career or the things he owned, but the family he loved so deeply and the life he worked so hard to provide for them.

Stephen was predeceased by his father, Stephen Moore; his sister, Jennifer; and his niece, Tara.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; his children, Brittany and her husband Keith, Stephen, and Kayla; his cherished grandsons, Caiden and Chase; his mother, Barbara; his brother, Robert; and many Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Though his time with us was far too short, Stephen leaves behind a lifetime of love. His family will continue to see him in the sunsets, feel him on the water, and remember him every time they gather together. Most of all, his love will live on through his children and grandchildren—the family he devoted his life to and loved more than anything in this world.

He was a man who spent his life taking care of everyone else. His greatest gift was simply being Dad, Pop-Pop, husband, and friend. He will be missed more than words can ever express and loved forever.
