Stefie Carasio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Genesis at Westfield Nursing Center. She was 89 years old. Born in Dickson City, PA, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for 34 years. Mrs. Carasio was employed as a salesperson with Thelma's Bakery and later, Sabrina's Bakery, in Avenel for 17 years before retiring in 1996. She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Carasio, in 1978; and by three sisters, Irene De Luca and Tessie Parlaman, Romayne Polanin; and a brother, and Frank Stefanski. Surviving are a daughter, Rosanna Di Palma and her husband, Anthony, of Avenel; a son, Alfonso Carasio and his wife, Anna, of Annandale; a sister, Theresa Wargo; and three grandchildren; Stacy Hubany, Elise Carasio and Dan Carasio. Funeral services will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, followed at 11:15 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
