Stanley Robert "Bob" Peru passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 84 years old. Born in New York City, he was a lifelong resident of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township. Mr. Peru was self-employed in the wholesale and retail aspects of the radio controlled airplane business for most of his life; and belonged to the Academy of Model Aeronautics. His love for aviation took him to the full scale world as well. He was a pilot, aircraft owner, ground school instructor, safety inspector, and a Captain for Monmouth Airlines. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a longtime member of T. Nulty Post 471, American Legion and was an avid admirer of martial arts. His greatest passion, however, was his grandchildren. Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Peru, and her husband, James Minadeo, of Lebanon; a son, David Peru, and his wife, Jennifer, of Bridgewater; his former wife, Joan Peru, of Middletown; and his beloved grandchildren, Cora, Nicholas, Zachary and Adam. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge.
