Sharon Capitano passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.  She was 59 years old.

Born in Newark, she resided in Port Reading and Jackson for most of her life.

She was employed with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for many years before her retirement.

Mrs. Capitano was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and loved gardening and spending time at the beach.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Capitano, in 2018; and parents, Gerard and Evelyn Oldock Swayze.

Surviving are her daughter, Alyssa Reyes and her husband, Ramiro, of East Brunswick; sister, Gail Swayze, of Smithville; brothers, Kevin Swayze of Howell and Gary Swayze of Indian Trail, NC; and was "Nanny" to Ramiro IV, Ryker and Camila.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.  Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
