Ruth A. Sekerak passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at her home in Perth Amboy. She was 85 years old.

Born on May 12, 1940 in Perth Amboy to the late Ruth and Albert Sekerak, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Miss Sekerak was employed as an executive secretary with the NJ Carpenter's Fund in Edison for 20 years prior to her retirement; and had previously been employed with Engelhard Corporation in Carteret and the law firm of Mandel, Wysoker, Sherman, Glassner and Weingartner in Perth Amboy.

In addition to her parents Ruth was predeceased by a niece, Jill Marie Bunten.

Surviving are her sisters, Catherine Reilly and her husband, George, of Colonia and Ella Bunten and her husband, Robert J., of Perth Amboy; nieces and nephews, Albert Reilly, Patricia Schneider, Brian Reilly, Sharon DeBenedetto and Robert C. Bunten; great nieces and great nephews, Thomas, Matthew, Jillian, Robert, Jr. and Ryan; and many beloved cousins.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Ruth's memory be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the American Cancer Soicety.
