Ruth I. Schweitzer passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 85 years old.

Born in New York City, she resided in Hoboken and Roselle before moving to Avenel in 2005.

Mrs. Schweitzer worked as Administrative Assistant to the resident engineer at Newark International Airport for 20 years before retiring in 2014; and was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

Surviving are her children, Linda Bianco-Ricciardi and her husband, Peter, of Bedminster, Joe Schweitzer and his wife, Christine, of Mercerville and Susan Schweitzer of Avenel; sisters, Enid Muraca of Dayton and Barbara Musella of Wood-Ridge; and grandsons, Sean Connors, Alex Bianco and Matthew Schweitzer.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel. Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home , 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Ruth's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
