Ruth P. Hoffman passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. She was 93 years old.

Born in Inkerman, PA, as a first generation American, she resided in Elizabeth before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 34 years ago.

Mrs. Hoffman was employed in the cafeteria at Rahway Hospital for many years before retiring 32 years ago.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and was a member of the Avenel 3 ^rd ward Democratic Club and the Evergreen Senior Citizens Club.

Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, cards, traveling and the AC slot machines. She will be missed by Lancelot, Snowball and Hisko. Mom I miss you greatly. Until we all meet again.

Mrs. Hoffman was predeceased by her husband, Henry N. Hoffman, in 1998; son, David Krause; brothers, Peter, John, Joseph, Charles, George, Samson and Paul Shimakonis; a sister Eleanor Shimakonis; her parents Frank and Mary Weiksner Shimakonis.

Surviving are her children, Mary Hammond of Avenel, Genevieve Sinker of Falls, PA and Agnes Greco of Hoboken; a step-son James McIntyre; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 8 great great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Andrew's Church at Madison Avenue in Avenel on Saturday August 29 ^th at 2pm. This will be followedby a Celebration of Life from 3:30 pm until 7:30pm at Mary Hammond's home in Avenel.
