Ruth Lillian C. Strohm died on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 90 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided there before moving to the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township 51 years ago. Mrs. Strohm was a communicant of Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Avenel; and a former member of the Altar-Rosary Society at Saint John Vianney Church in Colonia. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew J. Strohm, in 1993; a son, Matthew J. Strohm, Jr., in 2012; and two sisters, Alice Charlier and Grace Zehend. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Deak, of Bethlehem Township; three sons, Mark A. Strohm of Clark, James J. Strohm of Lincoln Park and Jeffrey W. Strohm of Colonia; six grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church, Avenel under the direction of Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel. Interment will follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
