Rudi Lenhart passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. He was 90 years old.

Born in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, he came to the United States in 1955 and has resided in Avenel for the past 59 years.

Mr. Lenhart was employed as a tool and die foreman with DME Corporation in Hillside for many years before retiring in 1990.

He was an active member of the Deutscher Club in Clark since 1971; and has served as a volunteer there for the past 45 years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lieselotte "Lilo" Herrgott Lenhart, in 1991; and by seven brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his daughters, Mary Ann Eppel of Metuchen and Karen Robbins and her husband, Stu, of Edison; sister, Waltraud Seidenspinner in Germany; and grandsons, David Christy, Dalton Robbins and Matthew Robbins.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
