Ruby Bassin passed away on Sunday July 14, 2024 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was 88 years old.

Born on March 2, 1936 to the late Joseph and Rose Verycken in Hoboken she had lived in Woodbridge for the past 3 years.

Ruby was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fords.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Philip Robert Bassin Sr.; her son Warren Bassin; her siblings Lorraine Green, Geraldine "Tootsie" Feeley, Edward Verycken and Richard Verycken.

Surviving are her children Richard Bassin and his wife Elizabeth of Carteret, Phillip R. Bassin Jr. and his wife Geri of Saddle Brook, Barbara Scott and her husband John of Woodbridge and Florence Danzi and her husband Salvatoro of West Palm Beach, Florida; her siblings Kathleen Seijo of Rutherford, Vicky Telly of California, Joseph Verycken of Florida and Rosemarie Holmes of Maryland; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday July 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 28 South Fourth Street Fords, NJ 08863. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday July 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home located at 44 Green Street Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
