Rosemarie DiSanto, of Colonia and Manchester passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was 90 years old.

Born in Jersey City on May 8, 1932, to the late Helen and William Zimmerman, she resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township for 26 years before moving to Spring Lake and Manchester 20 years ago.

A graduate of Snyder High School in Jersey City, Rosemarie met her husband, Pasquale the love of her life, while at a dance. They married in 1954 and went on to have four children, William, Patrick, Richard, and Victoria.

Rosemarie was employed as an executive assistant with Merck & Company in Rahway for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1994. She was very proud of her work at Merck.

Rosemarie loved the beach, swimming in the ocean and going to Cape May with her family. She enjoyed traveling to Ireland and visiting cousins in England and Italy. An independent and vivacious woman with a contagious laugh who could make fabulous Italian meals and the best chicken soup ever.

Rosemarie was adored by her grandchildren who called her "Nana". She enjoyed attending their sporting events including softball, basketball, lacrosse, cheerleading and dance.

She was a communicant of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Colonia and Saint Catherine's Catholic Church in Spring Lake; and belonged to the Red Hat Society, the Jersey City Club, Bocce, line dancing and the Mahjong Group in Manchester. Rosemarie was very social and highly active with the many friends, she so greatly valued.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Pasquale DiSanto, in 1996; grandchildren, Joseph, Julia, Robert and Dominick DiSanto; and sister, Katherine Polito along with her brothers-in-law Allen Polito, Anthony DiSanto, Cosmo DiSanto and sisters-in-law Dorothy DiSanto and Catherine DiSanto.

Surviving are her children William P. DiSanto and his wife, Sharon, of South River, Patrick J. DiSanto and his wife, Jeanne, of Colonia, Richard M. DiSanto of Eatontown and Victoria DiSanto of Berkeley Heights; and grandchildren, Nicole (Darren), Carissa, Rachel, Bianca, Mia Rose, and Erin Elizabeth and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:15 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
