Rose M. Vilichka passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at her home in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township. She was 86 years old.
Born in Port Reading on May 15, 1938, to the late Frank and Domenica Ottaviano, she was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Vilichka was employed as an assembler with General Motors Corporation in Linden for 23 years before her retirement in 1999; and was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vilichka was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick Vilichka, in 1995; grandson, Frank Oresic, in 2013; two sisters; and four brothers.
Surviving are her children, Maria Vilichka and John Heslin of Port Reading, Fred Vilichka and Michelle Brennan of Piscataway, Frank Vilichka and Tara of Woodbridge, John Vilichka and his wife, Jacqueline, of Port Reading and Timothy McGrath of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Fred Vilichka and his wife, Autumn, Katie Hicks and her husband, Cade, Christopher Oresic and his wife, Nicole, John Vilichka and his wife, Staci, Jillian Vilichka, Jacklyn Vilichka, Tammy Gargano and her husband, Vincent, and Nicole McGrath; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose loved cooking, finding new recipes, shopping, going to church, going to Atlantic City and most of all spending time with her family. She loved making sure everyone was always fed, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Resurrection will take place on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 436 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading. Entombment will follow in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday evening from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
