Rose Marie Schaefer of Woodbridge passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Rahway, NJ.  She was 85 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ; She resided in Woodbridge most of her life.

She was a 1953 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School.

Mrs. Schaefer was an Administrative Assistant with Esso Oil, Amerada Hess, and The Westfield Police Department before retiring in 2002.

She was a communicant of St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge, and attended daily mass at St. Andrew's R.C Church in Avenel. She was also a member of the Colonia Country Club.

Rose Marie was predeceased by her son Scott William Schaefer who passed away in 2004; her parents Joseph and Margaret Sisko; and a brother Joseph Sisko who passed away in 2020.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years William A. Schaefer; a daughter Sheryl Anne Schaefer Takacs and her husband Tom of Milford, NJ; a granddaughter Emma Rose Schaefer of South Amboy; a sister Arlene Davin of Seattle, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will take place Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  A 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. James R.C. Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will follow at St. James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge.  Visiting hours will be Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
