Rose Pelzman Mirkovich passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 92 years old. Born on November 15, 1921 in Vienna, Austria, she has resided in Avenel since 1940. Mrs. Mirkovich was employed as chief clerk at Fords Middle School for 24 years before retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and belonged to Golden Circle, Avenel Seniors, Saint Andrew Knights of Columbus Widow's Circle and the Avenel Democratic Club. Mrs. Mirkovich was predeceased by her husband, George E. Mirkovich, in 1996; and a brother, Frank G. Pelzman, in 2006. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Stadler and her husband, Ron, of Piscataway; a son, George F. Mirkovich and his wife, Michaelene, of Toano, VA; and five grandchildren, Melissa Mirkovich, Meagan Mirkovich, Ron Stadler and his wife, Jackie, Monica Mirkovich and Tiffany Nearhood and her husband, Erik. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A funeral liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Coloina. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
