Rose P. Czekaj passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Preferred Care at Old Bridge. She was 90 years old.

Born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, she resided in Elizabeth before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 45 years ago.

Mrs. Czekaj was employed as a Benefits Specialist in the human resource department at Supermarkets General for 30 years before retiring in 1996.

She was a communicant of Saint Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and the Altar Confraternity at the church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Czekaj, in 1980; son, Stephen Czekaj, in 2003; sisters, Sophie Ezbianski and Mildred Smolski; and brother, Walter Kostula.

Surviving are her son, Dr. Philip Czekaj and his wife, Lori, of San Antonio, TX; her daughter, Christine Greene and her husband, Kenneth, of Old Bridge grandchildren, Megan Unfried, Kaitlan Czekaj, Matthew Greene, Megan Greene, Kevin Greene, Stephen Czekaj and Sarah Rose Czekaj.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Adalbert Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
