Rosario "Sal" Austria passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division. He was 88 years old.

Born in New York City, he resided in Staten Island before moving to Woodbridge in 1971.

Mr. Austria was employed with Wakefern Corporation in Elizabeth 14 years before retiring in 1993.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

Mr. Austria was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Tirella Austria, in 2015.

Surviving are his daughter and son in law, Rosalie and Bill Galasso, of Manchester; son, Richard Austria, of Woodbridge; former daughter in law, Karen Sorenson; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.
