Ronald C. Krakowski passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 64 years old. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Woodbridge before moving to Iselin 35 years ago. Mr. Krakowski was employed as senior reliability engineer with General Motors Corporation in Linden for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge and a graduate of Woodbridge High School class of 1968. An avid bowler, he was part of the General Motors Bowling League and Friday Night Mix at Majestic Lanes, Hopelawn. Ron also loved sports and freshwater fishing. Mr. Krakowski was predeceased by his parents, Helen Kosek Krakowski, in 2013 and Chester Krakowski in 2007. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Susan Silogy Krakowski; a daughter, Kimberly Vega and her husband, Julio, of East Brunswick; a son, Daniel Krakowski and his wife, Melissa, of Morgan; a brother, Richard Krakowski and his wife, Janet, of Paramus; five grandchildren, Amy and Dean Krakowski and Silas, Rhys and Halina Vega; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. from at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
