Roger M. Greenberg passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was 81 years old.

Born on August 23, 1941 in Newark to the late Mildred and Jack Greenberg, he resided in Woodbridge before moving to Berkeley Township last year.

Roger served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then was employed as a recruiter with Quality Temps in Union before his retirement in 2006. After retiring from Quality Temps he was employed by the Woodbridge Police Department as a crossing guard until 2022.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening, reading the Sunday comics and barbecuing.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Elise Wagner Greenberg; children, Elizabeth Desbiens and her husband, Robert, of Clifton Park, NY, Jennifer Easley and her husband, Thurmon, of Sicklerville, David Greenberg and his wife, Stephanie, of Fanwood, and Melissa Dysko and her husband, Kenneth, of Bridgewater; sister, Sandra Greenberg, of New York City; and beloved grandchildren, Christian Desbiens, Andrew Desbiens, Jacob Desbiens, Nicholas Dysko, Sarah Desbiens, Amelia Greenberg, Halle Greenberg and Juliet Greenberg.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home.

The family will be sitting Shiva at their home located at 23 Winterton Drive, Toms River, NJ after the funeral, Friday from 12 until 7, Saturday from 6 until 9 and Sunday 12 until 7.
