Dr. Rodulfo C. Nilooban of Edison passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at home. He was 65 years old.
Born in Manila, Philippines, he also took residence in Texas and Elizabeth, NJ, before moving to Edison 29 years ago.
Dr. Nilooban served as a physician in the Filipino province of Davao City for three years and one year in Morong, Bataan before intrepidly moving on to the U.S. He became Chief Resident of Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 1984 and then began practicing in Edison in 1987. Throughout his entire career, he blessed the Edison area with his diligent and compassionate approach to patient care for 29 years, serving at JFK Medical Center, the William Toth Memorial Health Center, and eventually his own practice, Edison Pediatrics.
He was a communicant of St. Helena's R.C. Church in Edison, a fervent fan of 60's and 70's singer-songwriters, and a master storyteller.
He was predeceased by his father Emiliano Nilooban; and a sister Zenaida Pastoriza.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Florence DelaVictoria Nilooban; two daughters Rina Nilooban of Highland Park and Roxanne Nilooban of Edison; a son Ronald Nilooban of Edison; his mother Maria Calderero Nilooban of the Philippines; two sisters Nenita Ramirez and Marie Nieto both of the Philippines; two brothers Florentino Nilooban of Plattsburg, NY and Alflo Nilooban of Daly City, California; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and Monday from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Helena's R.C. Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
Flower donations are appreciated. However, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the American Heart Association.
