Obituary

Robert H. Yockavitch, (Bob) 79 of Port Reading, NJ passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at home.

Robert was born in Elizabeth, NJ; He resided in Port Reading for the past 40 years.

He was employed as a Department Manager with A & P Supermarket in South Plainfield for 40 years, retiring in 2011 and was a member of U.F.C.W Local #1262.

Robert was a Graduate of St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth 1963 and received his bachelor's degree in Sociology from The University of Villanova in 1967.

He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of The Warren County Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed small game and deer hunting. Bob was also very proud of his abundant garden he grew as long as he was able.

He was predeceased by his son Michael Denton; his parents Louis and Loretta Sancilardi Yockavitch; and Sister Louann McGuire of Brick.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Elizabeth Legeny Yockavitch; his daughter Elise Calabrese and her husband Michael of Rahway; his son Raymond Denton of New Brunswick; His brother Dennis Yockavitch of Spotswood. His sisters Linda Siekierka and her husband Mike of Jackson, Judy Bruno of Keyport, and Loretta McKenna and her husband Chris of Edison and nephew Daniel Glovan of Keyport and his furry friend Laszlo.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge, NJ.  A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025 10:00 am at St. Anthony's R.C. Church 436 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading.  Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Castles of Dreams Animal Rescue 434 Cliffwood Ave. W, Cliffwood NJ 07721.
