Robert Sugzda of Somerset passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick. He was 69 years old.

Born in Jersey City, NJ; He resided in Roselle and Union for many years.

Robert served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Sugzda was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Roselle where he was a Past Grand Knight and served as a District Deputy, and a member of the Union Knights of Columbus Council #4504.

He was employed as a claims processor with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York and in the security department at Newark Airport.

He was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Mildred Miller Sugzda.

He is survived by his sister Mary Brennan of Avenel; a brother Michael Sugzda of Lyndhurst, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
