Robert C. Murphy passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 78 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he has resided in Woodbridge for the past 47 years.

Mr. Murphy was employed as a longshoreman through Local 3 of the Longshoreman's Association and United Weighers and Samplers Union in New York City for many years before his retirement; and was a United States Army veteran.

He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Edward Murphy; and a brother, Edward Murphy.

Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Judith; sister in law, Jean Murphy; nieces, Carol Ann Hasher, Denise Murphy, Deborah Tarazi and Diane Burylo; nephew, Robert Murphy; five great nieces; and two great nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
