Robert J. Kociolek passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 88 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1961.

Mr. Kociolek was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War; and was employed as general foreman by Shell Oil Company in Sewaren for 25 years before retiring in 1994.

He was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge; and was a longtime member and former chief at Woodbridge Fire Company Number 1. He also served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 33, Boy Scouts of America, Woodbridge.

Mr. Kociolek was predeceased by his wife, Theresa Reilly Kociolek, in 2020; and sister, Dorothy Peterson.

Surviving are his sons, Robert Kociolek and his wife, Robin-Ann, of Barnegat, John C. Kociolek and his wife, Kathleen, of Woodbridge and Michael Kociolek and his wife, Deanna, of Woodbridge; sisters, Sister Ann Jerome Kociolek, OP, Dominican Sisters of Hope and Sister Margaret Charles Kociolek, OP, Dominican Sisters of Hope; brother, Father Charles Kociolek, CSC of Holy Cross; grandchildren, Megan, Brielle, Christopher, Stacy, John, Michael and Laura; and great grandchildren, Levi and Aaron.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Saint James Food Pantry, 149 Grove Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Mr. Kociolek's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
