Robert E. Johnson passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 64 years old. Born in Perth Amboy, he has resided in Edison for over 40 years. Bob was employed as a Chemical Laboratory Technician with Union Carbide in Bound Brook for many years before retiring in 2004. He was predeceased by his parents, Brian K. and Anne Palchik Johnson; and a brother, Brian "Bucky" Johnson. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Joan Vayda Johnson; a daughter, Beth Johnson, of Edison; a son, Christopher Johnson, his wife, Stacy and their children, Alivia and Jace, of Manalapan; two sisters, Nancy Monteverde of Ringoes and Linda Johnson and her spouse, Elaine Welsh, of Hillsborough; a sister in law, Gloria Johnson, of Stockholm; three aunts; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Funeral services will be private.
