Robert J. Hopta passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his home in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township. He was 66 years old.

Born on December 21, 1958 in Woodbridge to the late Elizabeth and Joseph Hopta, he has resided in Iselin since 1993.

Bob was employed with Engelhard Industries in Carteret for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2005.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Eric Hopta, in 1993; and sister, Barbara Grigas, in 2002.

Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Zipfel Hopta; sons, Scott Hopta and his wife, Jillian, of Manalapan and Tim Hopta and his wife, Ashley, of Bridgewater; sisters, Nancy DiCarlo of Bedminster and Susan Ziesemer of Uncasville, CT; brother, Dennis Hopta, of Newbury, VT; and beloved grandson, Jake.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mr. Hopta's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
